Voice 1156 Founder Visits Philly!
Monica Hoover, fashion/editorial/art photographer and entrepreneur extraordinaire was in town last weekend. It's always a treat to catch up with her. If you're ever feeling like you've got a lot on your plate, Monica's happenings could put yours in check! My Mother-in-Law(who is the President and Publisher of her own medical newsmagazine business, AND should definitely be interviewed on one of my favorite news shows, the Today Show) and Monica take the #1 and #2 spot on my Busiest Hard Working Women list!
Mon and I met while majoring in photography at Drexel University. In 1998, she was the first roommate I ever had when she offered me cheap rent for sharing a 3 bdrm house on Warren St. in West Philadelphia. We definitely have some fabulous and wild memories at that place! Anyway, I think it was 2001 when she moved to San Diego, CA. Since then she's come back 'home' to Philly for weddings and photo gigs, and every time she makes sure to catch up with as many friends as she can. This time though, she was meeting with an investor for a new business adventure in San Diego. If there's one thing about Monica that I admire most, it's that she doesn't just 'talk the talk' she 'walks the walk'! You go girl!
She's tried numerous times to talk me into moving to California with her and try my photography out there, but I woosed out and took my chances here on the east coast. However I'd have to say, staying here was definitely in my favor, because now I've got a super supportive husband and the start of a beautiful family! I couldn't have asked for anything more.
So, here is the lovely lady in Philadelphia, with our good friend and new mom Jessica, with her adorable baby girl Mischa.
Monica grabbed my camera and took some fun shots of Jess, Mischa, Carver and I.
Carver's hair was in rare form that day, but he's still the cutest baby boy in the World!!

Here is Monica the dog lover, trying to tame a gorgeous but wild, Siberian Husky. Hey did I mention that Mon is also going to be on an episode of the Dog Whisperer? She's got two American Staffordshire Terriers that need to get along.
